CA final results out, Lucknow girl Eti Agarwal tops all India ranking
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the results of the Chartered Accountants (CA) Final Examination and Common Proficiency Test (CPT).
Lucknow’s Eti Agarwal topped the exam securing 599 marks out of 800 (74.88 per cent). She was followed by Bhiwandi’s Piyush Ramesh Lohia and Ahmedabad’s Jyoti Mukeshbhai Maheshwari who bagged the all India second and third rank with 71.75 per cent and 70.75 per cent marks, respectively.
Overall, 7192 candidates qualified as Chartered Accountants for which the examinations were conducted in November last year.
A meritorious student throughout her education, Eti had emerged the all India topper in the Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC), second level of CA, in November 2013.
In 2011, Eti had also topped the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations by scoring 98.75 per cent with 100 per cent each in mathematics and commerce. In June same year, she qualified for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) entrance test for CA with distinction.
After appearing for CA finals in November last year, she also took Company Secretary (CS) finals in December 2016. Her CS results are awaited and are expected to be announced in February.
An alumnus of Lucknow’s prestigious La Martiniere Girls College (LMGC), Eti, a daughter of CA Bipin Agarwal, said that she now aims to crack the civil services examinations.
“After qualifying CA, I now realise that I want to serve the nation. While working as CA or CS, I will be working for someone, but by cracking civil exams, I will working for the country,” Eti, who had pursued BCom (Hons) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, said.
Piyush, the second all-India topper, scored 574 out of 800 marks.
